Our Response to Covid-19

Posted March 17, 2020

Dear friends and partners,

During this season we wanted to inform you of what is happening at Mount Carmel in light of the Covid-19 situation. We are still moving ahead with completing the 2019-2020 class year, although it will look a little different.

Last Thursday we postponed our High Level ministry exposure trip in response to the changing situation and on the advice of our partners in those communities.

Sunday night we informed students to stay home after the announcement from Alberta Health Services that all classes were cancelled.

This week we are putting together plans to complete our program within the recommendations of Alberta Health Services. Classes will be switching to an online format to allow students to complete their studies from home. We will also continue supporting students in community and in one on one mentorship with the tools available.

While these events have certainly restricted the way we will run our program, we still believe we can carry out our mission; “To disciple willing Christians to a deeper, more passionate commitment to God and others, expressed through knowledge, love, and service.”

We appreciate your prayers and support as we make these changes and finish our year. Many in our communities are feeling the financial strain of these changes, and we are as well. If you are able to support us this month we ask that you would prayerfully consider it.

During this time we pray you and your loved ones are finding comfort and rest in Jesus.

Grace and Peace,

Ken Marshman
