Community BBQ & Elijah Run

Challenge a Friend, Spread the Word

Our annual Carmel Community BBQ is held on the second Sunday in September. Join us the Sunday afternoon of September 8th for good conversations and good BBQ! This is a chance to meet our new students and reconnect with alumni, supporters, and friends. Of course, if you’re up for a little exercise challenge, register below for our fun walk or run.

The Elijah Run is our annual five kilometer “Fun-Run” in Edmonton’s river valley that happens in conjunction with our Community BBQ. The run takes you through the Goldbar area, and into Edmonton’s beautiful River Valley. The out and back cross has some hills, some street, and some trail. While the run does raise some money for Mount Carmel, it primarily creates a gathering point for Mount Carmel supporters and an opportunity for the new class of students to recognize that they are part of a bigger tradition. Normally 70-80 people participate in the run, both walkers and runners. The competitive streak does come out, with a course record of under 18:08 minutes (results are posted after the race at We welcome all walkers and runners, and also anyone who wants to join the 250 people who come for the barbecue following.
